The Message - Poem by Karen M. Stakem

I stand at the edge of the world
Between sea, sky and sand
To set my soul searching
And out it soars into the vastness of a breath.
Free it flies on wings of thought
Catching the sun, chasing the stars,
Dancing in the white silence of the infinite.
In a moment, in an eon,
Back it comes on curls of mist
Rising from the depths of creation,
With a message of something wonderful found.
Urging me to listen carefully,
It sings a secret,
A soft melodic strain, pure and enduring
That warms me and brings me joy
For it is the echo of my name
On your lips,
The sweet words "I love you"
From your heart.
