I've never been to Heaven,
but I keep out of Hell.
No, I've not been to Heaven,
aplace that some know well.
But in between short spells above
they serve long terms in Hades.
that cruel fate that's destined for
romantic men and ladies.
My head remains the master,
my heart is tightly reined.
You get to Hell much faster
when you leave your heart unchained.
Although the highs are sharp and sweet
and some touch Heaven often,
they always crash back down to earth
when passion starts to soften.
I'll be a clear-eyed cynic;
a whore who's over-cautious.
The dizzy, spinning heights of love
just leave me feeling nauseous.
I'll keep my feet flat on the earth,
the place that I belong on.
This bitter, twisted path I walk
is one I can't go wrong on.
