The Mind Beast Poem by kevin eley

The Mind Beast

When you inject that shot of crap into your vein it will go strait to your brain
That is when the mind beast will start his little game.
Slowly in and out of consciousness you try to refrain
This his now his little game, teeth so sharp he gnaws at your brain
Trying to drive you insane with all his pain

As you sit there in your own little space he will show you what is really in your face
You rob, you steal and people hurt because you want to flirt with the mind beast
Your wife gives her body away just to feed the children another day
As they sit there looking, watching with there little eyes
They begin to cry with hunger, there faces awash with tears,

He kicks in again to show you your fears
GUILT! that’s right GUILT, you put these little innocence in pain as you can’t resist the needle in your vein

Now in the middle of the game you fill with shame, you want to ease there pain
Alas the mind beast rip’s into your brain once again, NOISE, SOB’S TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK, SOB’S, TICK TOCK tear’s hit the floor board’s with a crash like thunder
Tv hissing in the back ground, wind howling in the broken window, scream’s in the distance outside, dusk is falling shadows are crawling, no wife! Has she given up on you or given up on herself and taken her own life

Is this paranoia setting in or just that extra glass of gin
The children have cried them self to sleep
Belly empty while you had plenty
As you drift off without a care you best beware
The mind beast is still there

Day in day out it’s always the same you want to play the mind beast’s game
So you inser that needle in your vein
Last shot you say tomorrow is another day and I will clean myself up
You did not realize you have jacked up pure and there is no cure
D.O.A.
So the mind beast win’s for all of your sin’s
