The Mindset
The onset of semester
and new plans are resolved.
By the descent of star
why are they dissolved?
Like an excited electron
regressing back to shreds,
the ecstatic pupil drifts on
in mundane mazed threads.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Meaning:
An electron when energized jumps to the excited state. Since it is unstable there, it falls back due to de-excitation. Similarly, a student who is in high spirits of academic progress at the beginning of semester will be over-shadowed by the mundane life schedules very soon.
