The Modern Society Poem by Dr John Celes

The Modern Society

No one wants to obey these days;
Disobedience is the rule;
No one will pay heed nowadays;
Most behave like a mule.

No one wants freer advice too;
All want to stand on own;
As instructed, things none will do;
They must be left alone.

The present generation's changed;
But 'tis in tune with times;
Society appears quite deranged;
It isn't scared of the climes.

Gone are the days of wiser men;
Wisdom hasn't place today;
The aged are an ill-omen;
One wants to have his way.

The wheel of time will turn around;
Its movement none can stop;
Both mind and heart must remain sound;
If not, problems will crop.

The youth today is smart always;
You cannot imagine;
Ready to take all risks all days,
They live in mirth and sin.

But time will punish everyone;
None can escape its rod;
The wiser keep their work well done,
Obeying their one God.
