The Moment I Heard... Poem by David Carroll

The Moment I Heard...

Rating: 4.5

These words are in memory of my late father whose death was unexpected.

The moment I heard the news, my whole world collapsed.
Words left unspoken, never to be expressed, started running through my head.
Why today? Why now? Why had I not told you how I really felt?

Death had robbed me of the opportunity to make things right, on the morning of your passing, we had a fight. Why? It doesn't matter now, all I am left with is sorrow and a sense of being violated by Death who mugged me and stole my father.
