The Moment Of Truth Poem by Arunava Bhattacharyya

The Moment Of Truth

The jitters of November could be felt,

It was coming-the unknown but the inevitable! ! !

The shutters were thus laid,

The unseen debts were yet to be paid,

The tourniquet of love became blatant.........

The masks were yet to be taken off,

Smiles yet to be replaced by grin,

Panic was the call of the hour;

When faith was killed right in the womb,

Hate ruled hearts and fear ruled minds....

And I was down with hope,

Free-spirited, but tied with rope-

My mind, my heart and my soul! ! !

Waiting for the judgement day,

When the result was known! ! ! !

The dreams did ricochet-

When I flipped thoughts between

Dying as a tragic hero or a loving villain! ! !

Finally, it was the moment of truth-

And as the terror-weapon made the strike-

I left my thoughts for the world and died a free-man,

No gains, no pains! ! !
