The Monsoons - Poem by suchitha joseph
The monsoons have come... yet again,
With them, that fresh earthy smell,
Sweeter than any perfume, ever made.
and the feeling that everything around,
is so fill of life....
Strings of tiny drops - zillions of them!
smiling at you, trying to reach you through
the window, and with slender arms
caressing you tenderly..
Then those huge shiny beads..
falling all over you
some tickling you, some soft,
some a little hard, never too harsh..
Always bringing a smile on faces,
young, old... no matter what..
Sipping hot coffee, staring out into the rains..
were perfect evenings..
They make a heart excited
and serene, at the same time!
countless emotions and memories
pouring out, like falling raindrops...
I am out in the rain.. alone
But not feeling lonely
wrapping their cold arms around me
But in a warm embrace!
All around me...
My tears become one with them..
They give me their smile!
Reminding me again
'You are alive,
So full of life! ...'
