The Morning And I Poem by Eugene Pappan

The Morning And I

The morning
Longing for a lazy sun
The clouds a scrambled mess
And you
A walking eclipse
Lilac blossoming at your feet
The dandelions in my chest
Leaping from my ribs
The morning and I
Forgetting we were ever warmed
By anything other than your presence
