The Most Beautiful Flower Poem by Guy Dimitri Jagodinski

The Most Beautiful Flower

Rating: 5.0

I was sitting at the park the other day
Feeling dark and depressed
Over the joyful noise of children playing
Deafness clouded my inner feelings
Until a sparkle caught the corner of my eye
I turned and looked as a kid ran by
After he passed I saw in disbelief
The most beautiful rose you would ever see
The dew glistened like diamonds on a ruby band
No one dare touch that flower by hand
Everybody would stop and smile at the rose's splendor
Some would lean and smell the wonderful aroma sighing with pleasure
I began to smile and my worries diminished
I realized after seeing this rose that my life was not finished
God gave me a moment to see something amazing and glorious
The rose blooming made Solomon's gold seem foolish
I stood up and walked over to the rose
Reached and gently pulled the flower towards me
Slowly inhaling the sweetest scent that calms the soul
A tear fell down and my heart became whole
Life began again in a wonderful way
Once I realized the beauty that surrounds us everyday
After seeing the most beautiful flower
I did not need that ivory tower
