The Most Difficult Of All Emotions (Love) Poem by James S Newcomb Lang

The Most Difficult Of All Emotions (Love)

Rating: 5.0

Love is by far the most difficult, of all emotions to bear

To find that special someone, with whom your life to share

When in love you’re vulnerable and open to being scarred

So lowering your defences, can often be quite hard

Especially if you’ve been hurt, and lost a love before

You maybe rather reticent, to open an emotional door

Once bitten twice shy, but life without love is trial

Compared to the joy of waking, to a hug and a lover's smile

A look that says I love you, a kiss or the touch of a hand

An all embracing empathy, that shows you understand

I want to live my dream of dreams, of you and I together

Safe within each others arms, through calm and stormy weather

You are my life, you are my love, you’ve set my heart on fire

You have given me everything that I could possibly desire

Without your love I’d fade away and live in misery

So I thank you for your love and for all you’ve given me
