The Most Fearful Night Poem by Katheryn Foley

The Most Fearful Night

I remember dark nights,
I remember sounds of violent fights,
The words so hurtful the scars unrecoverable,
Crying alone waiting for the end.

Blue lights flashed outside the window,
I knew it would all be over soon,
So strong the smell of fear fills this house,
The place I call my home.

Soon drowned out with shouts,
They took you out of the house,
Beat you to make you understand,
But you never had a chance,
Not while you were drunk,

Such a scary night i will never forget,
A night full of remorse and regret,
Will haunt us until the day we progress,
From that fearful night
