The Most Middle Aged Man Poem by Ragy Sandid

The Most Middle Aged Man

The most middle aged man
Writes the most about middle age
That page where rage is caged

And life seems unchanged
after it was unchained

As young as the ones around
yet no way to show for it
younger ones see themselves unbound
and bound to show him they know it

He wants to get to the wise
and offer the sublime sermon of life
but all around him think otherwise
Compete or else it will be your life

A whale in a sea of sharks
the size sheers off the masses
yet small size jaws sparks
jolts that in the giant passes

The sea is big enough for all
yet there is order to everything

Beautiful
lives in every corner
on the surface, in the forms united
at the reefs, with bright colors sighted

Then down deep drums the danger
Everyone's finned to be a friend
till under the reef appears an unfinned stranger
who uses waterways but won't blend

Everyone seeks to claim the throne
that's thrust further and further ahead
some acquire it and sit on water alone
yet all know there's only one fate instead.
