The Motions Poem by Naomi Waters

The Motions

The guilt
The pain
The tears
I keep thinking about how I treated you
But its to late
Because
Your gone
Your not coming back
Why did you have to go
Did it hurt
What was your last thought
So many unanswered questions
They wont go away
For awhile I am numb
I cant move
I cant feel
I cant even think
Then they return
And I go through the motions again
The guilt gets worse
The pain increases
The tears continue to fall
I ask the questions again
I keep thinking
Maybe now i will get an answer
But all I get is silence
And once again I go through the motions
I ask the questions
I feel the pain
I keep going through the motions
