The Mystery? Poem by Shannon Nicole

The Mystery?

She sways her hips to the beat
She closes her eyes
She lets the music soak in
She listens to every word
And sings them softly

He sits at a table
Sipping his coke
He watches her dance
He's like a stalker
But he wants her

She never notices his strong stare
She never notices he's there
She knows that people are here to look
But she doesn't know he's still there

He stays until everyone leaves
He stays until the music stops
He stays until she's tired as ever
He wishes he could hold her up

She was the most beatiful creature,
He thought.
But she wasn't his
She would never be his

He walked right up to her
After another song switched on
He leaned in,
By her ear,
And whispered,
'You're beautiful,
Dance with me? '

She nods.
But she doesn't know who that voice was
That voice that sent shivers up and down her spine
She wanted to know

They danced together,
Until the music slowed to a stop
He walked right out of her life,
Not even saying,
'Good-bye'
He left her
And she cried
