The Need To Write In Me Poem by Francis Duggan

The Need To Write In Me

One might say I've written a whole heap of stuff
And for me enough never does seem enough
Though penning of rhymes does little for my self esteem
I must be addictive or so it does seem
As I pen this I hear the song of the pee wee
An unmistakeable voice that's familiar to me
Whilst a bloke in the park is arguing with his wife
Always something to write of in Nature and life
Though my worth as a wrtiter I always do doubt
I never feel short of things to write about
In Nature and life I see things every day
Of which on paper I feel I have something to say
And though my best days in life one can say are long gone
The need to write in me keeps me writing on.
