Hey young folks, it's time to open your eyes to the world of politics. Not every friendly smile comes with a basket of goodies. Some smiles are just there to get a closer look at how empty your basket is, to see how easily they can fill your hopes with sweet words instead of real food.
When election time rolls around, suddenly the leaders remember your neighborhood. They show up like long-lost relatives who only come around when they hear there's a feast in town. Their voices get softer, their promises become grander, and their hands reach out to you as if they've never forgotten where you live.
But watch out for those loud promises. In politics, noise often travels further than the truth. Many promises are pursued like goats chasing a plastic bag blowing through the market running after something that's just full of hot air.
Take a good look at the promises they're waving around. They're like balloons at a party bright, colorful, and eye catching from afar. They float high above, drawing your gaze upward. But inside, they're just empty, waiting for the slightest touch of reality to make them pop.
