The New Wild West Poem by Alexander Downie

The New Wild West

Saddle up your sandals, for a cheap flight to the new wild west,
never a dull moment in a town without culture, style or finesse.
Pack your shortest denim skirts, high heals and tacky underwear,
1000 aging egos need massaging, vanity and poverty does not care.

Shirtless brown bar boys dancing with lying eyes and pistols all a blaze,
sad old girls want to feel special, trading visas and cash until their beauty fades.
Rope them doggies up, young Turk outlaws stealing money sex and trust,
reality is on hold in the new wild west, faithful partners have all gone bust.

We may get cheap flights to go to the wild west, but have to fork out our one year salary for 10 days stay there. Why do people forget their culture? particularly the recent emigrants. Our forefathers who had migrated to South East Asia, upheld the culture and we are grateful to them. Nice thought
