The Old Me Poem by amir naseem

The Old Me

Whenever I sat alone,
I have been wondering…am I alone?
A loner I am? Yes indeed,
A companion? None!
It’s just my shadow and a gentle breeze,
A lone wolf absolutely!

Whenever I see the shining stars,
I have been thinking…is there anyone I can trust?
Like the stars been faithful to the dark sky above,
No one…only myself and God,
Only God understand how I feel…empty.

Darkness taught me how to aim,
Fear taught me how to trust,
Anxious taught me how to believe,
Sadness taught me how to be gallant,
Happiness taught me how to be careful,
All these feeling taught me what life is all about,
Life for me…is another story.

Whenever I closed my eyes…I felt empty,
The emptiness began to rise,
When every time the sober inside me crying,
I can feel the pain,
I hate loneliness, but it loves me,
But I can’t run from the fact that I’m lonely.

Jealousy conquer the inner me,
When I see two love birds,
When I see a group of friends laughing happily,
Where is my friends when I need the?
Totally lonely…Felt like being betrayed by your comrades,
But I’ve been through it all with a roar of pain in my heart,
A true lone wolf indeed,
That was a long time ago…the OLD me,
And now the past hath come back to me.
