The Only Star Of Evening Poem by Ruth Goldfarb

The Only Star Of Evening

'Twas the only star of evening a shining through the night.
'Twas the only star of evening that assured me in my plight.
Surrounded by the darkness, a kindled by the night,
Yet the darkened reaches of evening could not blot out its light.
Surrounded by the darkness, a kindled by the night,
Yet the darkened reaches of evening could not blot out its might.
