The Other Pains Poem by Satish Verma

The Other Pains

Was it the duplicity?
You pave the temple path with rosy thorns.
Bur deity waits for the devotees.

When you break the silence,
truth whispers in the ears of the moon.
you know ice of the planet was melting away?

As I imagined, the black river
failed me. Between us thevipers swim.
Death was worthless to count living.
