The Other World Poem by M.J. Henderson

The Other World

As we fall asleep,
A whole new world appears,
And not many people know about it.
I am one of the lucky ones,
To experience this weird and wonderful woorld.
When the last human closes their eyes,
The first of the night creatures,
Awakes.
The owl sits in a tree,
Waiting, watching, for his dinner.
The fire fly’s start to fly around,
They are like stars but,
They make pretty patterns in the sky.
The crickets come out of their homes,
And start to make music.
Creatures of the underground come out,
And scurry around,
Looking for their dinner.
Then there are the tree dwellers,
Who spend their time,
Eating fruits and nuts,
Catching up on the gossip.
All the noises are amazing,
And you can’t forget it.
Then as the first light,
Reaches across the land,
They all disappear.
The owl.
The fireflies.
The crickets,
The creature of the ground,
And the tree dwellers to.
When the humans awake,
They don’t relise that there is,
A whole different world,
That only comes out at night.
But if the day world,
And the night world,
Were to mix together,
The magic would disappear.
So,
Since I’ve told you,
You’ll have to keep it a secret,
Or you will be the one who made the magic,
Disappear.
