The Other You Poem by Diana Americano

The Other You

I hide in the shadows
linger on your walls make you laugh when you fall
make you cry when you are mad
make you smile when your sad
speak to you constantly
give you choices
but wont let you sleep
unless you choose my choice
I pick you up when you fall
help you succeed when you fail
tell you the right words to say
I bring hurtful memories
I bring happy memories
I choose one style
but you choose another
you run miles
that give such a bother
you like this
I like that
It's sad
but so funny
I am a shark
but you are a frightened bunny
I am what you really are
your only friend
I am the other girl
I am the other you
and I will make you choose
what I want
and I will win
this great fight
to be you
