They come in the backyard of my house
Howling, seeking left-overs of food,
Howling in such a way
As if loafers were hooting out,
But they are not,
The grey jackals
Having deserted the depleted forests
Are living in proximity
To residential areas
Wherefrom they can extract food
From garbage heaps.
