The Pain Of Goodbye (Shakespearean Sonnet) Poem by ashok jadhav

The Pain Of Goodbye (Shakespearean Sonnet)

The hour arrives when parting casts its spell,
And trembling hearts must learn to speak no more;
What once was near, familiar, loved so well,
Now drifts beyond the closing of the door.
Each step away resounds within my chest,
A drum of loss that echoes in the soul;
The lips that longed to speak their last be pressed,
Yet silence claims the words I cannot dole.
How cruel the hand that lifts what we hold dear,
And leaves the emptiness in its embrace;
Yet in that ache, our love grows sharp and clear,
Etched in the lines that time cannot erase.
Farewell may wound, yet memory will stay—
A light to guide me when you go away.
