The Pain Of Yesterday Poem by Sapher Wolf

The Pain Of Yesterday

I met a stranger yesterday
And not in the least but pleasant way
We were driving down the street
Between Park and thirty-third
When he came diving at us
Like a crazy flying bird
We pulled over immediately
To see if he was o.k.
But when I saw him laying there
I knew he wasn't awake
There was a small crowd of people
Forming all around him
And next thing I knew
Tears were falling down my chin
We had already called the cops
And they were on their way
My mom was crying with me
But the people were saying,
That it was all o.k.
I walked back to my mom
Who was afraid to go and see
And she was with somebody else
That I'd never ever seen
The lady had seen what happened
And came to check on us
She invited us to her home
'Cause we were very shaken up
She went back and forth to tell where we were
She asked if we wanted water and I, of course said sure
My mom called up people and so did I
And the people that I called came over
As soon as they heard us cry
It was awful nice of them, to come at such a time
I didn't know how to thank them, so I wrote a poem of mine
I hope the guy we hit
Is going to be alright
I heard that he was in intensive care
When my mom called last night
I'm gonna try and visit him when he's up and on his feet
I just hope when I see him he won't be asleep
I feel really really bad for what happened on that day
But I know that he'll get better and he for sure will be o.k.
