The Painter's Gaze Poem by Kenneth matloga

The Painter's Gaze

In shadowed hues, the artist's gaze does dwell,
A flame of ginger locks, a beard like rust,
Within those eyes, a myriad stories tell,
Of dreams and toils, and of an artist's trust.

A brush held firm within a hand so worn,
Speaks of long nights beneath the candle's glow,
Creating worlds from visions newly born,
Where light and color through the darkness flow.

The darkness frames his visage, stark, profound,
As if to cloak the sorrow in his heart,
Yet in his glance, a quiet strength is found,
A fire unquenched that fuels his noble art.

O painter, with your soul upon the brink,
Your spirit lingers in each stroke, each line,
In silent whispers, deeper than we think,
Your legacy in every shade does shine.

Forever in the canvas, you remain,
A tale of passion, struggle, joy, and pain.
