The Parting Poem by Mark Hopwood

The Parting

Turn the lights down low
Take off your shoes and we'll dance real slow
And as I watch the stars burn out in your eyes
I can forget about your lies and Alibi's
So turn the lights down low.

Come with me into the night
If you're with me it would be so right
Then as I see you reflect onto the moon
I can forget that your leaving soon
So come with me into the night.

Close the door as you go
I'm sorry the answer has to be no
Cos as I watch you open the door to leave
I can feel my heart pound on my sleeve
It gets harder and harder for me to breathe
So will you close the door as you go.
