The Path Of Poetry Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

The Path Of Poetry

Rating: 2.0

Like a river
Poetry is a giant
Flowing through crevices
Planting life
Poetry walks on many legs
Sometimes on no legs at all
Meandering through the dry sand of our minds
Bringing life to the most deserted parts of our consciousness
Poetry gathers all the seeds of life
Scattering them to the furthest corners of our being
It's a lovely experience
To be carried by the drift of poetry
As it splashes its way to the edge of the cosmos
Poetry is a living tree
Suckling all of us with its nutritious milk
We are all nurtured by poetry
Under the big tent of life
There is no sorrow big enough
There is no pain in togetherness
The warmth of poetry is for all of us
I am here to tell you
Poetry is a train
Moving at full throttle
Through the thick thickets of our minds
Time is not a problem
As it is a canvas to paint life
History has taught us
That today will come and go
And tomorrow will come and go
But our beloved minds
Will gain wisdom
It's impossible to keep up with poetry
But yet again poetry is our mother
To nourish our soul
And free our spirit
It's only through the womb of poetry
That we exist in many places at once
As it's a map
On the palm of our soul
I walk the path of poetry
I am a spirit poet
And you are the path of poetry
