The Patient - Poem by Isaac Spradlin

The Patient
Lasts the longest
Unconscious, comatose, unaware
Of the constant torment of reality
For one moment it seems
He experiences peace
The peace normally achieved by death
Unplugged from reality
Settled in a plethora of calm
