The Peaceful Pill Poem by carlos mendoza

The Peaceful Pill

a master of laughter
he turns into disaster
the disease undercover
approaches much faster

as we laugh even harder
his mind just gets darker
most of life he suffers
a feeling he cant barter

he wishes for pure ignorance
but he's had too much experience
he's learned many lessons
he has learned, forgiveness

and with exquisite deliverance
it will not make a difference
he's still just a peasant
in need of extreme assistance

they say, 'where there's a will'
so he takes the peaceful pill
this is his baleful meal
suddenly this is real
