The pen slides Poem by Valerio Magrelli

The pen slides

The pen slides
down the groin of the page,
while writing collects itself in silence.
This page has the geometry
of an African country,
where I map
out rows of parallel dunes.
Drawing
as I talk
what my tale prefigures.
As if a cloud
were to assume
the form of a cloud.
