The Perpetual Ticking Of Time Poem by David Chap Bottoms

The Perpetual Ticking Of Time

Rating: 5.0

Thoughts scream and screech
Clawing at walls with icy fingers
Sharpened teeth and poisoned breath
Skin gray and pale

Hands move restless
Without pause or hesitation
Disembodied and lifeless
Unyielding to quit

Sleep eluding the body
Aches and pains torment
Muscles give up and cry
The heart bleeds

Eyes helplessly look on
Words bitten back
The mind crippled
Shut out from the world
