The Phoenix Poem by Kavitha Krishnamurthy

The Phoenix

Excruciating grief burning the heart
Hope flees away as smoke
My wishes and desires blazes away
All that is left is the ash of my soul
My soul dies a million deaths
But never does it renounce rises again
A phoenix, it rises from the ash
Creating a new me with an invigorated spirit
Filling new hopes inside my heart
A new individual is born once more
To live a life and die yet again
