The Phone Is On And My Heart Is Yours - Poem by Brittney Wilhoit

Before you stop listening
Before you delet this message
You need to know I’m not like your past ex’s
I’m not going to call every night begging you to reconsider
I’m not going to attempt to separate you and your new love
I know you hate that
I’m calling to say I wasn’t lying when I said I’d be here
When you need a friend
I’m here
When you need to babble about the one who now holds your heart
I’m here
When you need to escape the frustrations of the world
I’m here
And if you ever feel that spark between us again
I’m here
But even if that never happens I will still tell you what you have told me so many times before
My phone is always on
And my heart is always yours
