The Poet's Boast Poem by Doug Blair

The Poet's Boast

Haven't been in touch here
Months have rolled right by
Others spoke their hearts clear
Loves and hurts descry.
Felt the life of others
Watched the Heavens play
Offered up hard questions for another day.
This the heart of poems
This the soul's fine gold
Form and rhyme
A freedom danced since days of old.
