The Power Of Imagination Poem by Margaret Cox

The Power Of Imagination

It is the haunting silence which dims the eyes light
And pupils darken to match the menacing night
Shadows lurk around as the mind conjures up fear
Deep thoughts run riot to bring danger so near.

Let rich imagination soar up to different heights
And warm the mind with a flood of beautiful sights
Where pretty Butterflies swarm in dazzling display
And colourful stars twinkle to show the right way.

A cascading fountain overflows the waiting cup
With everlasting delights to continuously sup
Air so cool and clear it nurtures to bring peace
Worries and tensions drift away in blessed release.

Floating like a leaf as the wind whistles with a sigh
Watching white clouds majestically meandering by
Feeling the soft tickle as rain clouds cry their tears
And a singing bird bringing sheer pleasure to the ears.

Running through corn fields kissed by the golden sun
And lying on the softest of beds when the day is done
Seeing a lovely smile that brightens up any dull day
And the innocence of a young child absorbed in its play.

To the oasis of pure paradise imagination can transport
And fear or sadness is replaced with lightness of thought
Knowing that colourful dreams can set your mind free
Creating a place in your heart where happiness will be.
