The Price Of Literacy Poem by Kumaara Sukeja

The Price Of Literacy

THE PRICE OF LITERACY

'Ignorance is bliss'- the inge'nue's famous last words-
Craftily dismissed as passe': '- That's only for the birds-'
The shrewd critic: lucrative is the assertive sophistry-
In a manipulative society, strike the right chemistry!

The poor naively believe that ignorance is not a curse;
Under the dispensation, their state can be lot more worse:
Knowledge be the privy of the Master- the sop's the anodyne.
Status-Quo's the holy-grail: ergo, stigmatizing the rebels is fine..
