The Princess And The Man Poem by Sam Muller

The Princess And The Man

Two hackneyed tales, told countless times.
Of a princess who slept for a hundred years
And a commoner who slept for just thirty.
She woke up to a kiss and found life unchanged.
He just woke up and found his world vanished.
She lived happily ever after.
The books do not say what happened to him.
If he chose to live (but how could he?)
He would have had to build a life
Brick by unfamiliar brick.
