The Promise Poem by Macwolls Kay

The Promise

You made a promise
You swore to keep
I know you'll try
I know you well
You even told your mother so.

You made a promise
I remember so
Seated by the river side
The tide was high, the sun was bright.

You made a promise
I remember so
But this love has drifted wide
With passion gone I want no more.

You made a promise
I remember so
But this promise you must break
Free your heart, free your soul.
