The Shadow Poem by Macwolls Kay

The Shadow

For thirty years she lived in darkness
He cast a shadow upon her life.
She heard the beat and felt the kick
But then she said ready she was not.

She made her choice, but now she cries
A price she paid a burden she bore
He grew within, an unseen companion
But she slept with the devil and sold her soul.

Now she cries all night and sleeps all day
Deep inside she felt a need to claim her soul.
But the painfull monments a constant reminder
She paid her price but the torment continues,
So she built a fortress around her heart,
And with worldly treasures, she bribes her conscience.
