The Promise Poem by zahin siddiqi

The Promise

Rating: 5.0

Bangladesh, I see blood in your hands,
Bangladesh, I hear cries in your lands,
Bangladesh, they are trying to burn the flag,
Bangladesh, I feel shake in your map.
As we promised to build a country of happiness
We fought for a better future,
The freedom came by blood, death and rapes.
Finally with envision they killed our talents,
Is this why we are in dark yet?
Bangladesh, I see blood in your hands,
Bangladesh, I hear cries in your lands,
Bangladesh, they are trying to burn the flag,
Bangladesh, I feel shake in your map.
Bangladesh, do you remember February 21st,1952?
Today the world celebrates the day
As mother language day.
Bangladesh, do you remember? Do you remember?
Rofiq, Salam, Borkot and Zobbar.
Do you remember the devoted freedom fighter?
Bangladesh, I see blood in your hands,
Bangladesh, I hear cries in your lands,
Bangladesh, they are trying to burn the flag,
Bangladesh, I feel shake in your map.
Bangladesh, you have thousands of stitch in your body,
How can you stand and look forward?
Just try to rebuild the path of future journey,
The nation stands behind you.
Bangladesh, I see blood in your hands.
Bangladesh, I hear cries in your lands,
Bangladesh, they are trying to burn the flag,
Bangladesh, I feel shake in your map.

dedicated to the brave son and daughters of Bangladesh.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Shahid Qazi 17 December 2013

Bangladesh, the former East Pakistan, is vigorously trying to shake off its drowsiness and come into the world of realism. The poem is a passionate appeal to the country to grow on the scale of growth. It is a fine piece of writing.
