The Proposal Poem by Alfred Ramos

The Proposal

Rating: 1.5

The first time I laid eyes on you
My heart skipped beat or two
It’s not what I planned to do
I became hypnotized by your eyes
Your eyes on me
How can I believe that by one simple glance
I would get the chance
To solve love’s mystery
The next time I laid eyes on you
You knew what I already knew
We had reached the crossroads of our existence
We could no longer put up a resistance
It was now or never
Because, I do, means forever
The first time I laid eyes on you
I knew my single days were through
The time to settle down was here
Start living in a normal atmosphere
But am I ready
To go steady
For the rest of my life
I’ll be shaking
The decision I’ll be making
Asking you to be my wife
Happy Mother’s Day
