The Punished Strike Back Poem by Kai Neldner

The Punished Strike Back

I am against it
cause I want to stay here
I am against it
Because you had the idea

I am against it
cause I am not the crowd
I am against it
no matter what it is about

I am against it
I say it one more time
I am against it
and I am feeling fine

I am against it
cause I don't always have to win
I call it freedom
you call it missing discipline

Please see my behaviour
As a sign of dislike
That I confront you with

I am not stupid
even though you like to pretend
I am not mute
Just what I say makes for you no sense

I am not lazy
I just don't want to do it now
I am not ugly
I just look different somehow

I am not deaf
you don't have to yell at me
I am not blind
It's your point that just can't see

Please see my behavior
As a sign of dislike
That I confront you with

Oh, and also please expect my clothes
to be a non-identification
with your values and beliefs

I am not rich
But I'm free to do what I want
I make my own decision
About appearance and beyond
