The Puppeteer Poem by Ryan Lee Morris

The Puppeteer

Manipulate my every move.
I am under your control.
I do just as you make me do.
I'm there to play your role.

I am at your whim and beck and call.
Do with me what you may.
You make me do things I don't want to do.
But this is how you play.

The script is how you wrote it out.
You make me read my lines.
Your story it hurts me way too much.
But it's all by your design.

If I revolt, you pull your hand.
I fall onto the ground.
So I have to be who you want me to.
I dare not make a sound.

Then when you are all done with me,
Back in the box I go.
But I'm there for you each and every time.
You want to have a show.

For you, you are my puppeteer.
I'm in the palm of your hand.
Without you I am limp and lifeless.
For I have no legs to stand.
