We speak in fragments, careful and restrained,
Our words a bridge that trembles under weight.
A glance may carry what the mouth denies,
A pause may tell more than confession could.
We love, and yet we stumble in the dark,
Unsure which touch will heal, which will betray.
The bonds we form are threaded through with fear,
Yet also wonder, hope, and patient care.
I see your face, and in its mirrored light
I recognize the parts of me I hide.
And still we drift, each tethered by desire,
Each haunted by the silence we cannot fill.
To know another is to risk oneself,
To offer heart and learn it might return
In altered shape, or fail to come at all.
Yet even fragile, these connections hold
The quiet truth that life persists in touch.
