The Quiet Within Poem by ashok jadhav

The Quiet Within

I walked among the crowded ways
Where countless faces passed my own;
Each voice was loud, yet deep inside
My heart kept secrets all alone.
I smiled as custom asked me to,
And spoke the words the moment made;
Yet hidden tears and unvoiced fears
In silent chambers slowly stayed.
At times, a sudden joy would rise
Like sunlight breaking through the cloud;
A laugh, a hope, a tender thought
Would warm the soul it found bowed.
Then sorrow came with gentle feet,
Not always fierce, not always loud;
It sat beside my breathing heart
And taught me how to feel, not crowd.
Memory knocked at twilight hours,
With faces lost and moments gone;
They ached, yet shaped the one I am,
As rivers carve the resting stone.
In stillness, truth began to speak—
That hearts are deep, and seldom shown;
We live in worlds of outer sound,
Yet grow by what is felt alone.
So I now guard that inner flame,
Through joy and grief, through loss and gain;
For human strength is softly born
In knowing, feeling, bearing pain.
