The Rage Within Poem by Adejoh King

The Rage Within

The rage within
Is the consciousness of my inertia
And helplessness in the face of stagnation and
The futility of my being in the plane of my existence.

It is the belief that even a hundred years
Cannot bring to reality
The curse of my imagination which has
Become the sword of Damocles which l carry.

Such imprudence torture me
That l am nothing but an ant
And the rage within grows more
That those who think cannot and
Those who can are clueless
Adding more salt to my injury.

I will rage the more
Until you hear me and the world hear me
Until you make my voice your voice
And l will rage and rage until l expire
And l will rage again when l rise again
Until you make my voice your voice.
