The Ravage of Time
Do not blush
when we meet again
in a decade to come
as we'd have somehow changed-
words wouldn't come easily
as though something
is stuck in our throats --
how to each we seem so strange-
in another world we'd have dwelt
cocooned in every new circumstance
the past we shared is now a forgotten dream
perished by our long mutual absence-
with a new life we've engaged
we've shifted our every allegiance
everything that we once did experience
has fallen by the wayside in our indifference
