The Ravens Flashlight Poem by Chris Raven

The Ravens Flashlight

I am a raven flying in a dark and rainy night.
Flying in complete darkness.
My deep black feathers heavy from the rain.
I am lost and tired.
And i am left with no other choice but to keep on going.
Following the fading light of my hopes and dreams, slowly losing all hope.
Still i keep on going But the light fades into the darkness.
The raven that carried the burden of a sinfull world.
But as i fly in the darkness and as the rain makes my wings heavy. lost and lonely and all seems to be lost.
My eyes spot a Bright light.
With a spark of renewed hope i choose to follow this light.
And this light fills me with warmth and a sensation of redemption.
When i get closer to this light still weary,
It comforts me with a feeling that i cannot describe with just words.
A feeling of someone that completes my fractured soul
This Bright and warm light is you my love.
Guiding me from the darkness to the light

There is comfort in the endlessness of the sea. No past, no future. Only when i am close to the sea i feel at home. When i can smell the salt and feel the rough winds. As my father did before his father. We are men of the sea. No heroic tales, no heroic future. Just me and the waves of the unforgiving sea. Just the waves that swallow everything, This is where i come from and where i will return to. As the tides, my moment is brief, and then i return.
